Even when searching the user manual PDF you had to use "MUTE". Only if you use the specific word "MUTE" in the index did I find any help to solve the issue. It did not show anything helpful when searching terms like SOUND, PLAYBACK, SPEAKER, or Silent/silence. The annoying thing was that no information about it was easily found in the help search index. Prehaps the "X" overlay cold be made red.) Think I found it when the mouse was on top of it and the mute caption came up. When on mute, the X through it does not make it any more recognizable.

It looks more like an X with the ends filled in that the typical Windows speaker icon. (That funny icon that is supposed to be a speaker is not immediately recognizable if never used before. The problem was the small MUTE button on the lower rigft of the MAGIX editing panel was set to MUTE. I really appreciate it.Problem solved before your suggestion arrived. I think that's exactly what I'm going to do. Movie edit pro starts up automatically when I start up windows 10. On closing down MEP, observe in Task Manager, under the Processes section of the background process is running, if it is leave it for a while, 15 - 20 mins, and see if it shuts down. Once this has been allowed to complete the and it closes, the program appears not to restart on start up, however if the background process is interrupted or fails to stop then the program restarts. MEP 2020 carries out additional 'housekeeping' on shut down after installation and first run - the main program interface shuts down however a background process continues running for a short while. Since updating both computers to WindI have not had this happen - so issue may also be related to the above, however there is an additional factor to be taken into account.
MAGIX MOVIE EDIT PRO 2013 PLUS 94FBR UPDATE
I have had the same issue a couple of times with Movie Edit Pro 2020 and another totally unrelated program on 2 different computers, one running Windand the other 1909 and it started after the same Windows update was installed on both computers. If you are running Windows 10, and it is has started happening with MEP 2013, which is built on different technology to the latest version, this tends this tends to support what I have been suspecting the cause of the issue is. One other thing you might try: immediately after MEP starts (following reboot), use Task Manager > Details to End Process for any instances of. I'm not too hopeful though, because an (intermittent) inability to close MEP has been experienced by others, including me, and no fully reliable solution has been found. Replace that (after the usual precautions) with a slightly older version from your regular backups, or just delete it and allow MEP to replace it with the default on restart. Does it happen in all projects? Have you tried resetting program settings to defaults? Or, after closing MEP, locate your Videodeluxe.ini file (the larger of the two files with that name), probably at something like this locationĬ:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro 2013 Plus\Videodeluxe.ini Turning to the persistence issue, I suspect that might possibly be related. If neither includes the MEP process (Videodeluxe.exe) then we'll have to dig deeper. The more comprehensive list under Task Manager > Start-up.
The familiar Startup folder, which should be here:Ĭ:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartupĢ. First thing to eliminate is whether MEP 2013 has perhaps somehow been set to start on running Windows? There are unfortunately several ways this is done in Win 10, some a bit obscure, but I'd first check these two:ġ.
